Uyuni what's up? Bolivia’s famous Uyuni Salt Flats is the home to adventure, otherworldly scenery and good times and we're here to take it all on. First stop is the legendary Cementerio de Trenes (Train Cemetery), a fascinating site reminiscent of Bolivia’s booming mining industry in the 1900’s. Later, take a stroll around beautiful Colchani market, nestled in the southeastern rim of the salt flats (Salar). Enter the Salar and visit ‘ojos de sal’ (salt brine springs) as well as the former salt hotel Playa Blanca with its colorful multinational flag stand. After lunch, continue your drive on the vast salt desert with great photographic opportunities thanks to the endless horizon and flatness all around. In the dry season months (Apr-Nov/Dec) you will reach Incahuasi Island smack in the middle of the salt flats which you will be able to hike (moderate) to enjoy the best views of this wide, white world. On the way back to Colchani enjoy more great photographs and general fun before arriving in the town of Uyuni between 18:00-19:00 in time for your flight or bus out (alternatively stay overnight in Uyuni on your own) marking the end of our full day Uyuni adventure.
